Chicken Tenders
Citrus Plum Sauce
Method
Prepare Chicken Tenders
- 1
Step 1: Prepare the Breading Station
Set up a breading station by placing the flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs in three separate shallow dishes.
- 2
Step 2: Season the Flour
In the bowl with flour, add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well to combine.
- 3
Step 3: Bread the Chicken
Take a chicken breast fillet, dredge it in the seasoned flour, then dip it in the beaten eggs, and finally coat it completely with panko breadcrumbs. Repeat for all fillets.
- 4
Step 4: Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers but isn't smoking, about 5 minutes.
- 5
Step 5: Fry the Chicken Tenders
Carefully place the breaded chicken tenders into the hot oil, cooking in batches for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
Make Citrus Plum Sauce
- 6
Step 1: Combine Ingredients
In a small saucepan, combine the plum sauce, orange juice, soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, and red chili flakes.
- 7
Step 2: Simmer the Sauce
Heat the saucepan over medium heat, bringing the mixture to a simmer while stirring. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- 8
Step 3: Adjust Flavor
Taste the sauce and adjust with more honey or chili flakes if desired for sweetness or heat.
