For the General Tso Chicken
Method
Cooking the General Tso Chicken
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and brown sugar. Add the chicken thighs and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2
Prepare the Chicken
Once marinated, remove the chicken from the marinade and pat dry. Coat the chicken with cornstarch.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- 4
Make the Sauce
In the same skillet, add the remaining marinade, rice vinegar, and red chili flakes. Bring to a simmer and allow to thicken slightly.
- 5
Combine Chicken and Sauce
Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
