Pecan Pie

Thanksgiving Dinner

Method

Pecan Pie

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pie Crust

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges.

  2. 2

    Make the Filling

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, light corn syrup, melted unsalted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Add the Pecans

Stir in the pecans until they are evenly distributed in the filling mixture.

  4. 4

    Bake the Pie

Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.

  5. 5

    Cool and Serve

Allow the pie to cool before slicing. Serve with whipped cream if desired.

Thanksgiving Dinner

  1. 6

    Prepare the Turkey

Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Rub the turkey inside and out with butter, salt, pepper, fresh rosemary, thyme, and minced garlic.

  2. 7

    Roast the Turkey

Place the turkey on a rack in a roasting pan. Pour chicken broth into the pan and roast for about 13-15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

  3. 8

    Prepare Green Beans

Blanch the green beans in boiling water for 3-4 minutes, then shock them in ice water. Toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper.

  4. 9

    Prepare Stuffing

Follow the package instructions to prepare the stuffing mix. Optionally, add cooked vegetables or sausage for extra flavor.

  5. 10

    Serve the Dinner

Carve the turkey and serve with the stuffing, green beans, and cranberry sauce on the side.
