Method
Wok Noodles & Rice Sweets
- 1
Prep ingredients
Rinse and drain the rice if needed. Mince garlic and onion. Cut squid into bite-sized pieces. Beat eggs in a small bowl.
- 2
Loosen squid ink
In a small bowl, whisk squid ink with 2 tablespoons of water to loosen into a smooth slurry.
- 3
Heat aromatics
Heat a large wok over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of oil and sauté garlic and onion until fragrant and translucent.
- 4
Scramble eggs
Push aromatics to the side, drizzle remaining oil, and pour beaten eggs. Scramble until just set, then mix with aromatics.
- 5
Cook squid
Add squid pieces to the wok and sauté until just opaque, about 1-2 minutes.
- 6
Add vegetables
Stir in peas and carrot mix and cook for 1-2 minutes until tender-crisp.
- 7
Warm rice
Add cooked rice to the wok. Break up any clumps and mix with vegetables and proteins.
- 8
Season and color
Pour in squid ink slurry, soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Toss vigorously to color the rice evenly and coat with the sauces. Season with salt and white pepper to taste.
- 9
Finish and serve
Remove from heat, garnish with sliced green onion, and serve immediately.
