Cold Subs
Method
Cold Subs
- 1
Cook bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, about 8–10 minutes, turning as needed. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess fat.
- 2
Toast bread
Toast the four slices of bread until lightly golden. If desired, lightly butter one side of each slice before toasting for extra flavor.
- 3
Creamy mayo spread
Spread mayonnaise on the inner side of each toasted bread slice, using about 1/2 tablespoon per slice, so all slices are lightly coated.
- 4
Assemble
On two bread slices, layer romaine lettuce leaves, followed by tomato slices, and then 3 crispy bacon slices. Top with the remaining bread slices, mayo-side down.
- 5
Serve
Cut the sandwich in half on the bias and serve immediately for the best texture.
