Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Base

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and celery. Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Garlic and Spices

Stir in the minced garlic, Cajun seasoning, bay leaves, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Tomatoes and Broth

Add the canned diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce to the skillet. Stir to combine.

  4. 4

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. 5

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 5-7 minutes.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove the bay leaves and serve the shrimp creole over cooked rice. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
