Prepare the Bread
Slice the French bread lengthwise, making sure not to cut all the way through. Toast it lightly if desired.

Cook the Meat
Prepare your choice of meat according to your preference. For shrimp, you can sauté it with garlic and butter. For roast beef, you can heat it up in a pan or serve it cold.

Assemble the Sandwich
Spread mayonnaise on both sides of the bread. Layer the cooked meat, lettuce, tomato (sliced), and pickles inside the sandwich.

Add Hot Sauce
Drizzle hot sauce over the fillings to taste.

Serve
Close the sandwich and slice it in half. Serve immediately with extra hot sauce on the side if desired.
