Wine Ingredients
Method
Winemaking Process
- 1
Harvesting Grapes
Harvest the White Zinfandel grapes when they are ripe, typically in late summer.
- 2
Crushing and Pressing
Crush the grapes to release the juice and press them to separate the skins from the juice.
- 3
Adding Potassium Metabisulfite
Add potassium metabisulfite to the juice to prevent oxidation and inhibit unwanted bacteria.
- 4
Fermentation
Pitch the wine yeast into the juice and allow it to ferment for about 2 weeks at a controlled temperature of 65-75°F (18-24°C).
- 5
Adding Sugar
After fermentation, dissolve sugar in water and add it to the wine to achieve the desired sweetness.
- 6
Filtration and Bottling
Filter the wine to remove any solids and transfer it into clean bottles. Seal with corks.
- 7
Aging
Age the wine in a cool, dark place for at least 1-3 months to develop flavors before serving.
