Spicy Dipping Sauce

Method

Onion Rings

  1. 1

    Prepare the Onions

Peel the onions and slice them into 1/4-inch thick rings. Separate the rings and set them aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Add Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.

  4. 4

    Coat the Onion Rings

Dip each onion ring into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, then coat with breadcrumbs.

  5. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  6. 6

    Fry the Onion Rings

Carefully place the coated onion rings into the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Spicy Dipping Sauce

  1. 7

    Prepare the Dipping Sauce

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, lime juice, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until well combined.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve the crispy onion rings hot with the spicy dipping sauce on the side.
