Sandwich Assembly

Method

Prepare the Pork

  1. 1

    Season the Pork

Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder evenly over the entire surface.

  2. 2

    Place in Slow Cooker

Put the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Add apple cider vinegar and water to the pot.

  3. 3

    Cook

Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender and shreds easily with a fork.

Make the BBQ Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  2. 5

    Heat Sauce

Pour the sauce into a saucepan and heat over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until heated through.

Assemble the Sandwich

  1. 6

    Shred the Pork

Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.

  2. 7

    Mix with BBQ Sauce

Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the prepared BBQ sauce, ensuring the pork is fully coated.

  3. 8

    Prepare the Buns

Slice the brioche buns in half and toast them lightly if desired.

  4. 9

    Serve

Spoon a generous amount of the BBQ pulled pork onto the bottom half of each bun. Add coleslaw on top if desired, then place the top half of the bun on. Serve immediately.
