Fish & Chips
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Remoulade
In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped capers, chopped parsley, and lemon juice. Stir until well combined and refrigerate until serving.
- 2
Make the Beer Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in the beer until you have a smooth batter.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Cod
Dip each cod fillet into the beer batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully place the battered cod into the hot oil and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Cook the Curly Fries
While the cod is frying, cook the curly fries according to package instructions or fry in the same oil until golden and crispy, about 4-6 minutes.
- 6
Serve
Plate the fried cod with a side of curly fries and serve with the remoulade sauce.
