Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. 2

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and butter. Melt over a pot of simmering water (double boiler) until smooth, stirring occasionally.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugar and Eggs

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until pale and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Once the chocolate and butter mixture has cooled slightly, add it to the egg and sugar mixture. Stir gently to combine.

  5. 5

    Add Remaining Ingredients

Sift in the all-purpose flour and salt, then add the vanilla extract. Gently fold until just combined.

Baking

  1. 6

    Pour and Bake

Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish or individual ramekins. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center remains slightly gooey.

  2. 7

    Cool

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Pudding

Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream, a sprinkle of chocolate shavings, and fresh berries, if desired.
