Dumplings

Method

Dumplings

  1. 1

    Prepare the filling

In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp, green onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Fill the dumplings

Take a wonton wrapper and place a teaspoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water and fold the wrapper to seal, forming a triangle or pouch shape.

  3. 3

    Cook the dumplings

Steam the dumplings in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper over boiling water for about 5-7 minutes until cooked through.

Bao Buns

  1. 4

    Make the dough

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix in warm water and vegetable oil until a dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth.

  2. 5

    Let the dough rise

Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes until it doubles in size.

  3. 6

    Shape the buns

Divide the dough into small balls. Flatten each ball, place a piece of char siu or tofu in the center, and pinch the edges together to seal.

  4. 7

    Steam the buns

Steam the filled buns in a steamer basket for about 10-12 minutes until fluffy and cooked through.

Spring Rolls

  1. 8

    Prepare the filling

In a bowl, mix shredded cabbage, julienned carrot, bean sprouts, and soy sauce together until well combined.

  2. 9

    Fill the spring rolls

Take a spring roll wrapper, place a small amount of the filling near one edge, fold the edge over the filling, then fold the sides in and roll tightly.

  3. 10

    Fry the spring rolls

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the spring rolls until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels.
