Marinade

Method

Prepare Marinade

  1. 1

    Combine Marinade Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, lime juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, garam masala, salt, black pepper, and olive oil until well combined.

  2. 2

    Marinate Salmon

Place the salmon fillets in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

Grill Salmon

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a charcoal grill, allow the coals to burn down until covered with ash.

  2. 4

    Prepare Onion

While the grill is heating, slice the red onion into rings and set aside.

  3. 5

    Grill Salmon

Once the grill is hot, remove the salmon from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side, then carefully flip and grill for another 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

  4. 6

    Grill Onion

During the last few minutes of cooking the salmon, add the sliced red onion to the grill. Cook until softened and slightly charred, about 3-4 minutes.

  5. 7

    Serve

Remove the salmon and grilled onions from the grill. Plate the salmon, top with grilled onions, and garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve immediately.
