Method

Preparation

1

Wash and Prepare Spinach

Thoroughly wash the fresh spinach leaves under running water to remove any dirt. Drain and chop roughly.

2

Prepare Other Vegetables

Finely chop the onion and chop the tomatoes. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.

Cooking

3

Cook the Onions

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until it becomes translucent, about 5-7 minutes.

4

Add Garlic and Ginger

Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

5

Incorporate Tomatoes and Spices

Add the chopped tomatoes, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes until the tomatoes soften.

6

Add Spinach and Garbanzo Beans

Stir in the chopped spinach and drained garbanzo beans. Cook until the spinach wilts down, about 3-4 minutes.

7

Finish with Garam Masala

Sprinkle the garam masala over the mixture and stir well. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.

Serving

8

Serve

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot with rice or flatbread.
