Method
Tiramisu Directions
- 1
Prepare the Espresso
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and allow it to cool.
- 2
Mix Mascarpone Filling
In a large bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- 3
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
- 4
Prepare the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso (do not soak) and arrange a layer in the bottom of a serving dish.
- 5
Layer the Tiramisu
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers. Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 6
Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- 7
Make the Chocolate Sauce
Melt the chocolate and butter together in a double boiler or microwave, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- 8
Serve
Once chilled, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder, drizzle with chocolate sauce, and serve with additional whipped cream if desired.
