Steak and Pasta
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Heat Marinara Sauce
In a saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat until warmed through. Set aside.
- 3
Season the Steak
While the pasta is cooking, season the New York Strip Sirloin generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 4
Sear the Steak
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned steak. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is achieved. Remove from skillet and let rest for 5 minutes.
- 5
Combine Pasta and Sauce
In a large bowl, combine the cooked penne pasta with the warmed marinara sauce. Toss to coat evenly.
- 6
Serve
Slice the rested steak against the grain and serve on a plate alongside the penne marinara. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
