Method

Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the ribeye steaks with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Place the steaks in the hot skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer to achieve your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Add Butter and Aromatics

During the last minute of cooking, add butter, crushed garlic cloves, and fresh rosemary to the pan. Spoon the melted butter over the steaks.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Mashed Potatoes

  1. 7

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Place them in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 8

    Drain the Potatoes

Once cooked, drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.

  3. 9

    Mash the Potatoes

Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper to the drained potatoes. Use a potato masher or electric mixer to mash until smooth and creamy.

  4. 10

    Serve

Spoon the mashed potatoes onto plates and serve alongside the sliced ribeye steak.
