Method

Fries Preparation

  1. 1

    Bake the Fries

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the frozen French fries in an even layer on a baking sheet. Drizzle with vegetable oil and toss to coat. Bake for about 25-30 minutes until crispy and golden brown, flipping halfway through.

Chili Preparation

  1. 2

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain excess fat.

  2. 3

    Add Vegetables

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.

  3. 4

    Combine Chili Ingredients

Stir in the kidney beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble Chili Cheese Fries

Once the fries are done baking, remove them from the oven. Place the fries on a serving platter. Spoon the chili mixture generously over the fries. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and return to the oven for 5 minutes until the cheese melts.

  2. 6

    Garnish

Remove from oven and garnish with chopped green onions and a dollop of sour cream. Serve immediately.
