Method

Knot Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  3. 3

    Shape the Knots

Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about 10 inches long, then tie into a knot and tuck the ends underneath.

  4. 4

    Second Rise

Place the knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

  5. 5

    Bake the Knots

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the knots for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Garlic Butter Topping

While the knots are baking, melt 1/2 cup of butter and mix it with 4 cloves of minced garlic and 1/4 cup of chopped parsley. Brush the mixture over the hot garlic knots once they come out of the oven.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve warm and enjoy your delicious garlic knots!
