Tart Tatin
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Apples
Peel, core, and quarter the apples. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved, then arrange the apples on top in a circular pattern. Sprinkle with cinnamon and vanilla extract.
- 2
Cook the Apples
Cook the apples for about 20 minutes, turning occasionally until they are tender and caramelized.
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 4
Add Puff Pastry
Roll out the puff pastry and place it over the apples, tucking the edges down into the skillet.
- 5
Bake
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
- 6
Invert the Tart
Remove the skillet from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Carefully invert it onto a serving plate.
- 7
Serve
Serve warm with a scoop of cinnamon ginger ice cream on the side.
