Method
Preparation
Prepare the Chicken Wings
Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
Make the Seasoned Flour
In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
Frying
Heat the Oil
In a large, deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.
Coat the Chicken Wings
Working in batches, dip each chicken wing into the seasoned flour, ensuring they are well coated. Shake off any excess flour.
Fry the Chicken Wings
Carefully add the coated chicken wings to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Drain the Wings
Using a slotted spoon, remove the chicken wings from the oil and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serving
Serve with Sauce
Serve the fried wings hot with your choice of buffalo sauce, sweet & spicy sauce, ranch dressing, or lemon pepper seasoning on the side.
