Method
Preparation of Ribs
Season the Ribs
Start by seasoning the baby back ribs with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub the seasoning into the meat thoroughly. Let the ribs sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Prepare the Breading
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure even distribution of spices.
Breading and Frying
Bread the Ribs
Dredge each seasoned rib in the flour mixture, covering it completely. Shake off excess flour to avoid clumping.
Heat the Oil
In a large deep fryer or heavy pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to check the temperature for accurate frying.
Fry the Ribs
Carefully add the breaded ribs to the hot oil in batches. Fry for 4-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pot.
Drain and Rest
Once fried, remove the ribs from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
Serving
Serve with BBQ Sauce
Arrange the fried baby back ribs on a serving platter and serve with a cup of BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.
