Method

Dough Preparation

1

Prepare the Yeast Mixture

In a small saucepan, heat the whole milk and 1/2 cup of butter over medium heat until warm (about 110°F). Remove from heat and stir in the instant yeast and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 tsp of salt. Mix well.

3

Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the dry ingredients along with 2 large eggs. Mix until a dough forms.

4

Knead the Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Forming the Rolls

5

Prepare Cinnamon Sugar Mixture

In a small bowl, mix together 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 tbsp of ground cinnamon. Set aside.

6

Shape the Dough

After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick. Melt the remaining 1/2 cup of butter and brush it over the dough.

7

Add Cinnamon Sugar

Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the buttered dough. Cut the dough into strips and then cut each strip into squares.

8

Arrange the Rolls

Stack the squares in a greased bundt pan, making sure to alternate layers for a pull-apart effect. Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes.

Baking

9

Preheat and Bake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

Vanilla Dipping Sauce

10

Make the Dipping Sauce

In a mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of powdered sugar, 1 cup of heavy cream, and 1 tsp of vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
