Pork Chop

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a medium bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, paprika, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix well to create a marinade.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Pork

Place the 12 oz pork porterhouse chop into a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chop, ensuring it is well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight for maximum flavor.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or char-broiler to medium-high heat, around 400°F (200°C).

  2. 4

    Cook the Pork Chop

Remove the pork chop from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Place the chop on the hot grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on one side.

  3. 5

    Flip and Finish Cooking

Flip the chop and continue grilling for another 5-7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

  4. 6

    Rest the Chop

Once cooked, remove the chop from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a moist and flavorful chop.
