Method

Noodles

  1. 1

    Cook the Spaghetti

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt. Once boiling, add 8 oz of spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.

  2. 2

    Drain and Set Aside

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside, reserving a little pasta water.

Parmesan Butter Sauce

  1. 3

    Melt the Butter

In the same pot used for the spaghetti, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat.

  2. 4

    Add Garlic

Mince 3 cloves of garlic and add to the melted butter. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

  3. 5

    Add Spaghetti and Cheese

Return the drained spaghetti to the pot and add 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Toss to combine, adding a splash of reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.

  4. 6

    Season and Garnish

Add 1 teaspoon of black pepper and 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley. Toss again to combine and serve warm.

Garlic Bread

  1. 7

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley.

  2. 8

    Prepare the Bread

Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on both halves.

  3. 9

    Toast the Bread

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the bread on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 10-12 minutes until golden and crispy.
