Prepare the Protein

Cook Chicken
If using chicken, season the chicken breast with taco seasoning. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little oil. Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes per side until fully cooked. Remove from heat, let it rest for 5 minutes, then shred.

Cook Ground Beef
If using ground beef, heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and break it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned. Drain excess fat and add taco seasoning. Stir to combine and cook for another 5 minutes.

Prepare Black Beans
If using black beans, rinse and drain the beans. In a small pot, heat them over medium heat with taco seasoning. Stir frequently and cook until heated through.

Assemble Tacos
Place a warm tortilla on a plate. Add a portion of your chosen protein (chicken, beef, or black beans) to the center. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, slices of avocado, and a dollop of sour cream.

Serve
Serve the tacos immediately while warm, and enjoy with your favorite hot sauce or salsa!
