Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the ribeye steaks and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

While the steaks are marinating, preheat your grill to high heat (about 450°F to 500°F).

  3. 3

    Grill the Steaks

Once the grill is hot, place the marinated steaks on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time if you prefer a different doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steaks

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Fries Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thick strips, about 1/4 inch wide. Rinse the cut potatoes in cold water to remove excess starch.

  2. 6

    Soak Potatoes

Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes. This helps to achieve crispy fries.

  3. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 8

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain and pat the soaked potatoes dry. Fry them in batches for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 9

    Season the Fries

Sprinkle the hot fries with salt immediately after frying to enhance the flavor.
