Base

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Sauté the Base Ingredients

In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and celery, and sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  2. 2

    Add Garlic and Potatoes

Stir in the minced garlic and diced potatoes. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Chicken Broth

Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for about 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

Cooking Seafood

  1. 4

    Add Seafood to the Chowder

Once the potatoes are tender, add the shrimp, scallops, and white fish to the pot. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the seafood is cooked through and opaque.

Creamy Finish

  1. 5

    Stir in Cream and Seasonings

Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Add salt, black pepper, and dried thyme. Stir well and heat through for about 3-5 minutes.

  2. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley. Serve the chowder hot, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
