Cake Ingredients
For Greasing
Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F) and prepare a baking dish or individual ramekins by greasing them with unsalted butter and dusting with cocoa powder.
- 2
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and 100g of unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) or in the microwave in short bursts (15-20 seconds), stirring until smooth.
- 3
Mix Eggs and Sugar
In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and large eggs until the mixture is pale and slightly thickened.
- 4
- 5
Add Flour
Sift the all-purpose flour into the chocolate mixture and fold gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Baking
- 6
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.
- 7
Bake
Place the ramekins in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft. Keep an eye on them to avoid overbaking.
- 8
Cool and Serve
Remove from the oven and let them cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate and gently lift off to reveal the gooey center. Serve immediately, optionally with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.
