Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare Cheese Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix well until fully combined and smooth.

Assembly

  1. 3

    Layer Ingredients

In a large baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Add half of the cooked ziti pasta and top with half of the ricotta cheese mixture. Pour half of the remaining marinara sauce over the cheese mixture, followed by half of the shredded mozzarella cheese.

  2. 4

    Repeat Layers

Repeat the layering process with the remaining ziti, ricotta mixture, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese.

Baking

  1. 5

    Bake the Ziti

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

  2. 6

    Cool and Serve

Remove the baked ziti from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious baked ziti!
