Dough Preparation

Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt.

Combine Ingredients
Add the activated yeast mixture, yogurt, and oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Knead Dough
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Proofing
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

Prepare Topping
In a bowl, combine chopped onion, cilantro, cumin powder, chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
Cooking

Preheat Pan
Heat a tawa or a skillet over medium-high heat.

Divide Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into equal portions (about 6-8 balls).

Roll Out Dough
Roll each ball into a flat disc (about 6 inches in diameter) using a rolling pin.

Spread the onion mixture evenly on top of the rolled dough, pressing gently.

Place the topped dough onto the hot tawa. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until bubbles form, then flip and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
