Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Cube the lamb or beef into bite-sized pieces. Finely chop the onions and dice the tomatoes. Slice the bell peppers into thin strips.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large kadhai or wok, heat the cooking oil over medium heat.

  2. 3

    Sauté Onions

Add the finely chopped onions to the hot oil. Sauté until they become golden brown.

  3. 4

    Add Ginger-Garlic Paste

Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another 2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.

  4. 5

    Add Spices

Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt to the onion mixture. Stir well to combine and cook for 1-2 minutes.

  5. 6

    Add Meat

Add the cubed lamb or beef to the kadhai. Cook on high heat until the meat is browned on all sides.

  6. 7

    Add Tomatoes

Stir in the diced tomatoes and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they soften and release their juices.

  7. 8

    Simmer the Dish

Reduce the heat to low, cover the kadhai, and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes or until the meat is tender, stirring occasionally.

  8. 9

    Add Bell Peppers

In the last 5 minutes of cooking, add the sliced bell peppers and garam masala. Stir well and cook until the bell peppers are slightly tender.

  9. 10

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot with naan or rice.
