Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Dice the lamb into 1-inch pieces and set aside. Slice the onions and green bell pepper, and chop the tomatoes. If using frozen peas, ensure they are thawed.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Sauté the Onions

In a large pot or pan, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they are golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 3

    Add Lamb and Spices

Add the diced lamb to the pot. Cook until browned on all sides, about 5-10 minutes. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the lamb.

  3. 4

    Incorporate Tomatoes

Add the chopped tomatoes to the mixture and cook until they soften and release their juices, about 5 minutes.

  4. 5

    Add Water and Simmer

Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Let it simmer for about 30 minutes or until the lamb is tender.

  5. 6

    Finish with Peppers and Peas

After 30 minutes, add the sliced green bell pepper and green peas to the pot. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Finally, sprinkle the garam masala and mix well.

  6. 7

    Serve

Remove from heat and serve hot with rice or naan. Enjoy your Lamb Do Piaza!
