Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Goat

In a large bowl, combine the goat meat with yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to coat the meat evenly. Cover and let it marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight in the refrigerator.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Sauté Onions

In a large pot, heat the oil or ghee over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they are golden brown, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.

  2. 3

    Cook the Goat

Add the marinated goat meat to the pot and stir well. Cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the meat to brown slightly.

  3. 4

    Add Almonds and Coconut Milk

Stir in the ground almonds and coconut milk, mixing thoroughly. Add water to the pot, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.

  4. 5

    Simmer

Cover the pot and let it simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the goat is tender. Stir occasionally, and add more water if necessary to prevent sticking.

  5. 6

    Finish with Coriander

Once the goat is tender, stir in the chopped fresh coriander leaves. Adjust the seasoning with salt if needed and let it cook for an additional 5 minutes.
