Marinate the Fish

    Prepare the Marinade

    In a bowl, combine lemon juice, turmeric powder, salt, and red chili powder. Mix well.

    Marinate the Fish

    Add the fish fillets to the marinade and coat evenly. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Prepare the Batter

    Make the Batter

    In another bowl, mix gram flour, water, salt, and black pepper to form a smooth batter.

Cook the Fish

    Heat Oil

    In a deep frying pan, heat oil or ghee over medium heat.

    Batter the Fish

    Dip each marinated fish fillet into the batter, ensuring it is coated well.

    Fry the Fish

    Carefully place the battered fish in the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Make the Saffron Sauce

    Sauté Onions

    In the same pan, add ghee or oil if needed. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.

    Add Garlic and Ginger

    Stir in minced garlic and ginger, cooking for another 2 minutes until fragrant.

    Add Tomato Puree

    Pour in the tomato puree, stirring well. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.

    Add Cream and Saffron

    Reduce the heat and add cream, saffron strands, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Stir until combined.

Combine and Serve

    Combine Fish and Sauce

    Add the fried fish fillets to the saffron sauce, gently coating them. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.

    Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
