Method
Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Prepare Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture, yogurt, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let Dough Rise
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
Filling Preparation
- 5
Mix Filling Ingredients
In a bowl, combine the chopped green chilies, cilantro, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well to combine.
Assembling & Cooking
- 6
Divide the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into equal portions (about 6-8 balls).
- 7
Stuff the Naan
Take one dough ball and flatten it into a disc. Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the filling mixture in the center. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling and pinch to seal. Flatten the stuffed dough ball gently.
- 8
Cook the Naan
Preheat a tandoor or a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the naan for about 2-3 minutes on one side until bubbles form, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
