Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, combine the chicken breast pieces, yogurt, garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to coat the chicken pieces thoroughly. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Cook the Chicken

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Sauce

In the same pan, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add Bell Peppers and Spices

Stir in the chopped bell peppers and cook for 3-4 minutes until they start to soften. Add the tomato puree, coconut milk, and the remaining spices (garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and red chili powder). Mix well and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

  5. 5

    Combine Chicken and Sauce

Return the cooked chicken to the pan and stir well to combine. Adjust the seasoning with salt to taste. Allow it to simmer for an additional 5 minutes to heat through.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the pan from heat. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving. Serve hot with rice or naan.
