Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pizza Dough

If using homemade dough, prepare it according to your recipe or package instructions. Allow it to rise as necessary.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to its highest setting (usually around 475°F or 245°C) about 30 minutes before baking.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Sauce

In a small saucepan, gently heat the San Marzano tomato sauce over low heat. Add minced garlic and salt to taste. Simmer for about 5 minutes, then remove from heat.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Pizza

On a floured surface, stretch or roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread a thin layer of the prepared tomato sauce on the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

  5. 5

    Add Cheese and Basil

Tear the Bufala mozzarella into chunks and distribute evenly over the sauce. Scatter fresh basil leaves on top.

  6. 6

    Drizzle with Olive Oil

Drizzle olive oil over the top of the pizza.

  7. 7

    Bake the Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

  8. 8

    Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a minute, then slice and serve hot.
