Shrimp Farce

Toast Base

Method

Prepare Shrimp Farce

  1. 1

    Blend Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the langoustine meat, shrimp, scallions, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and egg white. Blend until you have a smooth paste.

  2. 2

    Chill Mixture

Transfer the shrimp farce into a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up the mixture.

Prepare Toast Base

  1. 3

    Slice Baguette

Cut the baguette into 1-inch thick slices. You should get about 4 pieces.

  2. 4

    Butter Slices

Spread a thin layer of softened butter on one side of each baguette slice.

  3. 5

    Add Sesame Seeds

Sprinkle sesame seeds evenly on the buttered side of each baguette slice, pressing gently to adhere.

Assemble and Cook

  1. 6

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. 7

    Spread Farce on Baguette

Take the chilled shrimp farce and spread an even layer over the sesame-seed side of each baguette slice.

  3. 8

    Bake Toasts

Place the baguette slices on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the farce is cooked through and the edges of the toast are golden brown.

  4. 9

    Serve

Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Serve the shrimp toast warm as an appetizer or snack.
