Method

Serve (per glass)

  1. 1

    Chill

Ensure the bottle of San Pellegrino has been chilled in the refrigerator for at least 1–2 hours before serving (ideally 4–6°C / 39–43°F). Cold sparkling water tastes crisper and retains carbonation better.

  2. 2

    Prepare glass

Select a clean glass (tumbler, highball, or wine glass). If using ice, add 3–4 medium ice cubes to the glass. Note: adding ice will slightly dilute the water as it melts.

  3. 3

    Open bottle

Hold the chilled bottle upright and twist the cap off gently. Pour slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation and minimize foaming. Stop pouring when you reach about 1 cm (1/3 inch) from the rim to avoid spills.

  4. 4

    Garnish (optional)

If desired, squeeze the lemon wedge lightly over the glass to release a few drops, then drop the wedge into the glass. Add a small sprig of fresh mint for aroma. Stir once gently with a bar spoon or straw to integrate garnish flavors without losing too much carbonation.

  5. 5

Serve immediately with a straw or coaster. Sip and enjoy the crisp, mineral-forward taste of San Pellegrino. If sharing from a 750 ml bottle, repeat pouring steps to fill multiple glasses (each glass ≈250 ml).

Bottle handling

  1. 6

Leftover bottle: re-cap the bottle if possible and store upright in the refrigerator. Best consumed within 24 hours for optimal carbonation and freshness.

  2. 7

Notes on temperature and carbonation: Warmer glasses or room-temperature servings will produce more fizz and a stronger sensation of bubbles. For the smoothest taste, keep both bottle and glass chilled before serving.
