Drink Base
Sweetener & Flavor (optional, to taste)
Garnish (optional)
Method
Assemble Coke Zero
- 1
Chill and prepare glass
Choose a highball or tall glass and fill it with ice cubes if you prefer your drink very cold. Pre-chilling the glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes is optional.
- 2
Add flavor concentrate
Measure 1 tablespoon of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar syrup or an equivalent zero-calorie cola concentrate and pour it into the bottom of the chilled glass.
- 3
Optional sweetener/adjustments
If you want a slightly sweeter or tangier profile, add up to 1/4 teaspoon liquid sucralose (or another zero-calorie sweetener) and a scant 1/8 teaspoon food‑grade phosphoric or citric acid solution. Add one drop of caramel color only if you want a deeper cola color. Stir gently to combine the syrup and any optional additions.
- 4
Top with carbonated water
Pour 12 ounces of very cold carbonated water slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation and minimize foaming. Leave a small headspace at the top (about 1/2 inch).
- 5
Gentle mix
Using a long spoon or stirrer, gently roll the liquid once or twice (do not vigorously stir) to mix the concentrate with the carbonated water while preserving fizz.
- 6
Garnish and serve
Add a lime wedge or lemon wheel on the rim if desired. Serve immediately while cold and fizzy.
