Seasonal Treatments
- 1
Room and material setup
30 minutes before the appointment: dim lights, set room temperature to warm-comfortable (about 22–24°C). Place the insulated cocoon blanket and two towels on the treatment table. Set the diffuser in the room and prepare the hydrosol spray bottle. Arrange the singing bowls within easy reach of the head of the table. Lay out the eye pillow, muslin squares, basalt stones, rose quartz crystals, and a small tray for warm stones and compresses. Start a soft ambient playlist or keep silence for singing bowl work.
- 2
Prepare the sleep-enhancing massage oil blend
In a clean glass bottle or bowl combine 90 ml sweet almond oil and 30 ml jojoba oil (total 120 ml). Add 10 drops lavender essential oil, 6 drops Roman chamomile essential oil, and 4 drops cedarwood essential oil. Gently invert the bottle 8–10 times to blend. Label and set near the table. Use approximately 30–50 ml of this blend during the full-body massage (adjust to client comfort), leaving the rest for neck/shoulder follow-up.
- 3
Make the herbal infusion for the cocoon/compress
Place 30 g dried chamomile, 20 g dried lavender, 15 g dried hops, 10 g oat straw, and 15 g fine sea salt into a heatproof bowl or French press. Pour 1000 ml just-boiled water over the herbs, cover, and steep for 12–15 minutes. After steeping, strain the infusion into a bowl reserved for compresses. Reserve approximately 300–400 ml warm infusion for compresses and pour the remainder into the small spray bottle (let it cool to a warm, safe temperature before using on skin).
- 4
Prepare the muslin compresses and stones
Fold each muslin square into a pocket, place a small handful (about 40–50 g wet equivalent) of the strained, warm herbal solids (or dampen the cloth in the warm infusion and twist into a bundle) to create two compresses. Wring gently to avoid dripping. Heat basalt stones safely (if using) to a comfortably warm temperature and place on a towel to avoid direct contact until ready. Keep one compress warm in a bowl and the other wrapped in a towel to stay warm.
- 5
Client arrival, intake and settling
Invite the client to lie face-up (supine) on the table with a towel draped over their legs. Offer them the eye pillow and ask about heat sensitivity, allergies, recent injuries, medications, and comfort with crystals and soundwork. Adjust temperature and bolster placement for knees and neck. Spray 2–3 short mists of the pillow & linen spray onto the pillow or into the room, then gently diffuse or place the hydrosol spray at low distance for faint aroma.
- 6
Crystal placement and grounding meditation (5–8 minutes)
Warm the two rose quartz crystals in your hands for 20–30 seconds. Place one crystal over the client's heart center (sternum) and the other just above the third eye (forehead) or over the upper chest if the client prefers. Tell the client you'll perform a short guided grounding breath: instruct them to inhale for 4 counts, hold 2, exhale for 6 counts, repeat 6 times. Maintain soft contact or light touch to reinforce grounding as you guide the breath.
- 7
Sleep-enhancing massage sequence (30–35 minutes)
Using 30–50 ml of the prepared massage oil, perform a slow, rhythmic full-body relaxation massage focusing on long effleurage strokes and light, soothing compressions. Sequence: start with long gliding strokes down the legs (5–7 minutes), gentle kneading of calves and thighs (3–4 minutes), knees and feet warm compress (1–2 minutes). Move to the abdomen with clockwise calming strokes (2 minutes), then the chest and shoulders with gentle open-hand effleurage (4–5 minutes). Finish with neck, scalp, and a light facial massage (6–8 minutes). Keep pressure light to medium, maintain slow pacing, and synchronize with the client’s breath. Re-warm oil if it cools.
- 8
Apply warm herbal compresses and cocoon preparation (3–5 minutes)
Re-warm one muslin compress in the warm infusion for 20–30 seconds and test temperature on your inner wrist. Apply gently to the client's shoulders and lower back for 2–3 minutes to melt tension. Next, have the client lie face-up, place the second compress briefly over the abdomen or heart for calming. Remove compresses and squeeze excess infusion onto a towel to avoid dripping. Prepare the insulated cocoon blanket over the client: tuck the towel under arms and wrap the blanket snugly from shoulders down (leave head exposed). Place the eye pillow over the eyes.
- 9
Singing bowls: resonant tone session while client is cocooned (12–18 minutes)
With the client cocooned and eyes covered, play the singing bowls beginning with the larger bowl for deep resonant tones: strike gently and circle the mallet around the rim to create a sustained tone for 2–3 minutes. Alternate with the smaller bowl for higher harmonics. Integrate soft pauses of silence between rings to let tones settle. Run 3–4 cycles of 2–3 minutes each, totaling about 12–18 minutes. Keep your movements slow and mindful; when possible, place the rim near (not on) the blanket near the client’s torso to transmit subtle vibrations. Allow the herbs and cocoon warmth to continue penetrating the body.
- 10
Cocoon rest and integration (10 minutes)
After the main singing bowl sequence, sit quietly for an additional 8–10 minutes allowing the client to rest into the effects of warmth, herbal aroma, and vibration. Monitor client comfort, keep the room quiet and dim, and avoid talking during this period to deepen the meditative state.
- 11
Gentle removal and rehydration (5–7 minutes)
Gently unwrap the cocoon and remove the eye pillow. Use the hydrosol spray (50 ml) to lightly mist the client's face and chest (1–2 short sprays) for cooling and scent, or lightly dab the warm infusion on the back of the neck with a towel if the client prefers. Offer a glass of water. If basalt stones were used, place them now on the client's shoulders for 1–2 minutes for anchoring warmth (remove if client reports excess heat).
- 12
Closing mini-meditation and aftercare recommendations (3–5 minutes)
Guide the client through three slow grounding breaths and invite them to reconnect their fingers and toes. Remove the rose quartz crystals and hand them to the client if they wish to keep or hold them for a moment. Share aftercare: recommend remaining seated/lying for 5 minutes before standing, drink a full glass of water, avoid screens for 30–60 minutes, and use the provided pillow & linen spray at home (2–3 spritzes on pillow before bed). Suggest a nightly 5-minute breathing practice (4:2:6) and, if helpful, a warm cup of barley or chamomile tea before sleep.

Cleanup and resetting
Clean and sanitize bowls, wash compress cloths in hot water, launder towels and linens. Dispose or compost used herb solids. Wipe and dry basalt stones and reset the singing bowls and diffuser for the next session. Record notes in client chart about pressure used, preferred aromatics, and any sensitivities observed.
