Tools & Setup

Method

Tools & Setup

  1. 1

    Sanitation & patch test

Wash hands and sanitize the mixing bowl, spatula and any tools. Perform a 24-hour patch test for clients with sensitive or reactive skin: apply a teaspoon of the prepared wrap mixture to a small area (inside forearm) and cover; check for irritation before proceeding. If using honey or berries, confirm there are no allergies to bee products or berries.

  2. 2

    Prepare workspace

Lay out towels and heating pad or warmed blanket. Place the clean mixing bowl and spatula nearby. Have the sheet of plastic wrap ready. Make a small cup of strong chamomile tea, allow it to cool completely, and measure the ingredients so they are easy to combine.

Exfoliation

  1. 3

    Dry brushing (pre-wrap exfoliation)

With the client standing or seated comfortably, begin at the feet and brush upward toward the heart using light to medium pressure. Use long strokes on the limbs and circular motions on joints and torso. Spend roughly 3–5 minutes total: 1–2 minutes per leg, 1 minute per arm and 1–2 minutes across the torso. Avoid broken skin, active rashes, or varicose areas. After dry brushing, have the client sit or lie down and lightly remove loose skin cells with a dry towel.

Blueberry Aloe Wrap Mixture

  1. 4

    Prepare blueberries

Place 1 cup fresh organic blueberries into the mixing bowl. Use a blender, immersion blender, or mash thoroughly with the spatula until you achieve a smooth puree. If the client prefers no seeds, strain the puree through a fine mesh and reserve the smooth liquid.

  2. 5

    Combine base ingredients

Add 1 cup pure aloe vera gel to the blueberry puree and stir until fully combined. The aloe provides a cooling, hydrating base that suspends the blueberry antioxidants.

  3. 6

    Add humectants and oils

Stir in 2 tablespoons raw honey and 2 tablespoons jojoba oil. Add 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil for antioxidant support. If using shea butter for extra nourishment, gently melt 2 tablespoons shea until soft (warm a bowl over a pan of hot water), then whisk into the blend so it emulsifies with the aloe and oils.

  4. 7

    Soothing infusion & aromatherapy

Pour in 1/2 cup cooled chamomile infusion and mix to a smooth, spreadable consistency. Add 8 drops lavender essential oil and stir thoroughly. The final texture should be creamy but spreadable — not runny. Adjust with a tablespoon more aloe or chamomile if too thick.

  5. 8

    Temperature & final check

Feel the mixture to confirm it is lukewarm or room temperature (not hot). Re-check patch test result. For clients with very sensitive skin, remove lavender or reduce to 2–3 drops.

Wrap Application & Rest

  1. 9

    Client positioning & protection

Have the client lie on a towel-covered, comfortable surface. Protect hair and the face (if not treating face) with towels or a headband. Keep a towel for modesty over the chest/hips as needed.

  2. 10

    Apply the wrap

Using the spatula, apply the blueberry aloe mixture to one area at a time. Start at the legs: spread a 2–3 mm even layer, covering the front and back of each leg. Continue to torso and arms, finishing with any target areas (knees, elbows). Avoid mucous membranes and open wounds. Use the remainder to cover the back if doing a full body wrap.

  3. 11

    Wrap & warm

Once the body is covered, gently wrap the treated areas with the sheet of plastic wrap to keep the mixture in place and retain warmth. Cover with towels and place the heating pad or warmed blanket on top for comfort and to encourage ingredient penetration. Ensure the client is comfortable and check circulation (not too tight).

  4. 12

    Treatment time

Allow the wrap to rest for 35–45 minutes. During this time you may offer a light scalp, foot or hand massage (avoiding treated body areas). Check in with the client at 10-minute intervals for comfort and any sensations of irritation.

Rinse & Post-wrap Nourishment

  1. 13

    Remove wrap and initial wipe

Carefully remove towels and plastic wrap. Use a soft towel to gently wipe off excess product from large areas first, then guide the client to a warm shower if available.

  2. 14

    Rinse

Rinse the skin with lukewarm water—avoid hot water which can strip moisture. Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser only if desired; otherwise a simple lukewarm rinse is sufficient to remove residue while leaving hydrating benefits. Pat skin dry with a soft towel.

  3. 15

    Seal and soothe

Apply 2 tablespoons light unscented body lotion or jojoba oil to seal in moisture; warm the lotion/oil in hands first and use long, gentle strokes. Place cool damp towels or cucumber slices over the eyes or areas of heat for 2–3 minutes if the client desires added cooling.

  4. 16

    Aftercare guidance

Advise the client to avoid hot baths, heavy exfoliation, or sun exposure for 24 hours. Recommend moisturizing daily and drinking water to support the treatment results. Note any reactions and document for future sessions.
