Method
Fried Crawfish Tails Directions
- 1
Prepare Crawfish
In a bowl, soak the crawfish tails in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Heat Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Coat Crawfish
Remove the crawfish tails from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge them in the flour mixture until fully coated.
- 5
Fry Crawfish
Carefully place the coated crawfish tails into the hot oil. Fry in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried crawfish tails from the oil and let them drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
