Pork Carnitas and Sliders

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

In a slow cooker, place the pork shoulder. Add chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and shreds easily.

  2. 2

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and add the Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. Stir to combine and let it cook on low for an additional 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Sliders

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half and place the bottom halves on a baking sheet. Top each roll with a generous amount of the BBQ pork, a sprinkle of cheddar cheese, and a few onion rings.

  4. 4

    Bake

Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the rolls are slightly toasted.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the sliders warm with a side of French fries and homemade jalapeno pineapple sauce.
