Preparation

  1. 1

    Preparing the Cheese

Take the 6 pieces of mozzarella cheese and cut them into sticks if they are not already in stick form. Each stick should be about 1 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Setting Up the Breading Station

Set up three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, place 1 cup of all-purpose flour mixed with 0.5 tsp of salt and 0.25 tsp of black pepper. In the second bowl, beat 2 large eggs until well combined. In the third bowl, add 1 cup of bread crumbs.

Breading

  1. 3

    Coating the Cheese

Take each mozzarella stick and coat it first in the flour mixture, then dip it in the beaten eggs, and finally roll it in the bread crumbs until fully covered. Repeat this process for all cheese sticks.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heating the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat 2 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of bread in; if it sizzles, the oil is ready.

  2. 5

    Frying the Cheese Sticks

Carefully add the breaded mozzarella sticks to the hot oil in batches, being cautious not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally for even cooking.

  3. 6

    Draining the Cheese Sticks

Once golden brown, remove the cheese sticks from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 7

    Ready to Serve

Serve the fried mozzarella cheese sticks hot with your favorite marinara sauce or dipping sauce on the side.
