1. Clean the Crab

If using live crab, place them in the freezer for 15-20 minutes to numb them. Then, rinse them under cold water and remove any gills or debris.

2. Prepare Butter Mixture

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

3. Cook the Crab

Place the cleaned crab in a large pot of boiling water. Add Old Bay seasoning and cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the crab is bright red.

4. Combine Ingredients

Once the crab is cooked, remove it from the pot and let it drain. Then, combine the crab with the butter mixture, lemon juice, and chopped parsley in a large bowl. Toss gently to coat.

5. Add Optional Ingredients

If desired, add red pepper flakes and hot sauce to the crab mixture for extra flavor.
