Cooking the Crabs

Prepare the Water
In a large pot, add 4 quarts of water and 1 tablespoon of salt. Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat.

Add the Crabs
Once the water is boiling, carefully add the 2 pounds of blue crabs to the pot. Be cautious as the water will splatter.

Season the Crabs
Sprinkle 3 tablespoons of Old Bay seasoning over the crabs in the pot. Stir gently to ensure the crabs are evenly coated.

Boil the Crabs
Cover the pot and allow the crabs to boil for 15-20 minutes until they turn bright red and are cooked through.

Drain and Serve
Carefully drain the crabs in a colander and let them cool slightly before serving.
Making the Dipping Sauce

Melt the Butter
In a small saucepan, melt 1 cup of butter over low heat.

Once the butter is melted, add 4 minced garlic cloves to the saucepan and sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
