Method

Rib Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub the mixture all over the end of the slab ribs to ensure they are well coated.

  2. 2

    Prepare for Cooking

Drizzle the olive oil over the seasoned ribs and rub it in. Let the ribs sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

  3. 3

    Cook the Ribs

Preheat your grill or oven to 300°F (150°C). Place the ribs on the grill or in a roasting pan and cook for about 2 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and pulling away from the bone. If using a grill, you can add wood chips for extra smoke flavor.

Serving

  1. 4

    Prepare the Onions

While the ribs are cooking, slice the onion into thin rings and set aside.

  2. 5

    Assemble the Plate

Once the ribs are cooked to perfection, remove them from the grill or oven. Allow them to rest for about 10 minutes. Serve the ribs with slices of bread, pickles, and onion on the side.
